Travel in Kenya: 2019 Bucket List

Travel Resolutions. We all make them. Often we commit to visit new places, to take at least one international holiday during the year, to go on a road-trip with the girls (or boys) – no babies, or significant other- and for the brave ones among us, to finally take that solo trip we’ve been putting off for years. Whatever your resolutions, stir your wanderlust with our Kenyan travel bucket list for 2019.

Unmatched Luxury In A Private Wildlife Conservancy

As long as you’re going to be dreaming about places you want to visit, let Solio Lodge inspire you to dream BIG, then talk to us to start planning your visit  to this luxurious camp. Guided walks, game drives, sun-downers, trout fishing in the Aberdares, helicopter rides around Mt. Kenya, picnic breakfasts and much more. Plan around the low season for friendly rates, with the same all inclusive package and world-class service. Dare to dream!

3,000 Feet Above Maasai Mara

The thrill of soaring in a hot air balloon over the Mara, watching the copper hues of the sunrise as it spreads its gold in every direction, soaking up the damp morning dew, a gentle breeze caressing your skin and the vast Savannah at your feet. One hour later, a “tip over” landing, then champagne, herbal teas, eggs-to-order, grilled mushrooms, freshly baked pastries and so much more, under the shade of a lone Acacia tree. We’re each putting aside about five thousand shillings every month and timing the November low season to check this off our list. Talk to us, and we can arrange for you to also check it off your list.

Lake Nakuru’s Latest Addition

The Cliff- Nakuru, is a ten room luxury camp, sitting at the top of a 100meter high rock, facing the lake. It looks like the perfect place for a romantic weekend. We are particularly interested in the free standing outward facing baths, and want to experience what has been described as “defying conventional labels, being a combination of safari lodge, tented camp and boutique hotel, constructed and furnished in a contemporary European style”. Naivasha is a bit of a cliché, so in 2019, let’s try Nakuru, and let’s travel in the green season, during the week, when rates are super affordable. Enjoy Weekday Discounts Now!

Secluded Beach Getaway

The Elewana Collection is a Mint favorite, and so far we have been blown away by Elsa’s Kopje in Meru, Arusha Coffee Lodge, The Manor at Ngorongoro and Tortilis Camp in Amboseli.  Our quest to sample all their properties continues, and in 2019, we’re dreaming about Afrochic Diani, described as “the perfect getaway for the discerning traveller”. Complete with an all-inclusive package that serves a variety of drinks you would happily consume in your own house, Afrochic promises exclusivity, genuine warmth, and miles of secluded beaches.  Book Your Spot on the Beach Now!

A La Carte Lunch In The Wild

Nestled deep in the heart of the Nairobi National Park is a little hidden gem. It offers a different kind of Sunday outing for the family, accompanied by savory food, salads straight out of the garden and plenty of wildlife, all against a backdrop of Nairobi’s skyscrapers. Immerse yourself in nature as you enjoy Sunday lunch at Ololo Lodge, unwind and gear up for the new week. Light Sunday traffic makes this a quick drive from the CBD, through the national park, and is suitable for all ages. It helps to have easy-to-achieve goals on your bucket list because getting them done gives you the motivation to go after the next big item. Lunch tables are limited, so make your reservation today.
